Lt. Matt McCullough
Gaining expertise in leadership and development made Auburn’s EMBA program particularly valuable for Lt. Matt McCullough, a U.S. Navy pilot.
Leadership practices he studied during the program not only gave him an understanding of their application in business, he said, but also helped him discover ways that these civilian –world techniques could be effectively applied in the military.
McCullough was already familiar with Auburn when he chose its EMBA program. Many members of his wife’s family attended Auburn. But it was Auburn’s academic reputation and the positive feedback of a colleague who had entered the program that sealed his decision.
Auburn’s flexible schedule and residency requirements allowed him to balance his work and home life better than other MBA programs he considered.
The networking opportunities – “not just getting to know people, but getting to know how people work and how their businesses work” – were especially useful as well, McCullough said.
