The Auburn University School of Accountancy (SOA) has a phenomenal reputation for producing high quality graduates who succeed in their careers. The SOA now has another avenue to equip our students to succeed: The School of Accountancy Peer-to-Peer Mentorship Program. Pairing students enrolled in ACCT 3110 Intermediate Accounting I and ACCT 3120 Intermediate Accounting II with Master of Accountancy (MAcc) students allows for the transfer of information critical to success in the collegiate years.
Students just beginning their upper-level coursework will "learn the ropes" from those who were in the same shoes not long before. The relationship mirrors the experience difference between a supervisor and staff in the professional environment, which adds an additional layer of relevance to future careers. The Mentorship Program provides MAcc students an opportunity to hone their mentoring skills necessary in the workplace, while ACCT 3110/3120 students receive guidance and answers to many common questions that arise about the recruiting process, graduate programs, and CPA exam.
This website contains information detailing the mentor/mentee relationship. Important documents are located on the Program Resources page. Please reach out to the MAcc VP of Mentorship (see right-hand pane or email email@example.com), if you have any questions regarding the SOA Mentorship Program.
