Objectives of the program are accomplished through the completion of a formal program of study, successful completion of a statistics core, preparation and completion of two examination manuscripts, and dissertation research. PhD students must complete a minimum of 60 hours beyond the bachelor degree. A specific degree plan will be determined by your advisor dependent on your goals and background. The general requirements are below.
A minimum of four statistics courses are required depending on your background. Some statistics courses will be taken in other colleges across campus and include advanced statistical methods, advanced regression, multivariate analysis, and structural equation modeling.
A minimum of four research courses are required. Courses may include:

ISMN 8020 IS MANAGEMENT RESEARCH SEMINAR II (3)
Departmental approval. Preparation in conceptualization, conduct, and presentation of applied and case studies research in MIS.
ISMN 8030 DOCTORAL SEMINAR IN INFORMATION SYSTEMS RESEARCH I (3)
Research methodologies used in conducting research with emphasis on empirical research methods.
ISMN 8040 DOCTORAL SEMINAR IN INFORMATION SYSTEMS RESEARCH II (3)
Research methodologies used in conducting research with emphasis on conceptual and empirical research methods.
ISMN 8500 ADVANCED IS MANAGEMENT RESEARCH SEMINAR I (3)
Departmental approval. Theoretical foundations and research directions in the management of technology and technological innovation,with the primary focus on information technology and research.
ISMN 8660 ADVANCED IS MANAGEMENT RESEARCH SEMINAR II (3)
Departmental approval. Theoretical foundations and research directions in the alignment of information technology strategy to business objectives and goals.
Students are required to take a minimum of 9 content hours in their respective area of specialization. Any course that is 6xxx or above is acceptable with advisor approval. Please see courses listed under Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, or Business Analytics for more information.
Students are required to take a minimum of 10 hours of ISMN 8990/8996 Research and Dissertation.
