Students in non-Business majors may earn a minor in Business by completing specifically designated core classes in the College of Business. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher in these courses to earn the minor.
Students should note the prerequisites for courses in the College of Business are strictly enforced. Non-business majors should plan to take the 'foundations' courses (course numbers x8xx), as these courses are designed for non-business majors. Minor seekers who intend to go into an MBA program should take the minor courses designed for Business majors (ECON 2020/2030, ACCT 2110, FINC 3610, MNGT 3100, and MKTG 3310).
Students may begin taking courses in their minor as early as their freshman year if they meet the course prerequisites.

If any of these courses are taken to fulfill the University Core Curriculum requirement or a requirement in the major/professional option, alternative courses may be substituted with departmental approval. See course descriptions for appropriate prerequisites. Non-business majors who are seeking a business minor should declare the minor with the Director of Student Services in Lowder 130. Students seeking a business minor must earn an overall GPA of at least 2.0 in all courses required for the minor.
