What to Expect
Freshman & Sophomore Year
International Business offers a stronger liberal arts foundation than is typically available in a business degree. Throughout your college career you’ll take courses in your chosen language; and like other business degrees, you’ll spend your freshman and sophomore years focusing on the University core courses which are designed to develop key analytical skills and prepare you for your major.
In your junior year, you’ll take a variety of principles courses and gain a wide set of business skills; and in your second semester you’ll focus on your chosen business concentration. Talk with the counselors at the Office of Professional and Career Development and look for an international study program or an internship abroad to round out your education and enhance your job prospects.
In your senior year, you’ll deepen your study of your business concentration, begin interviewing with international businesses, and culminate your studies with a capstone course in strategic management.
