We talked about it and prepared her for the interview. She had really good questions. She was kind of shaky at first, but she went in confident. I offered a little bit of guidance, a little pep talk and she did great. That’s the kind of personal service a mentor can give you.”

What to Expect:
This is a student initiated one-hour scheduled meeting with a business professional. The student takes the opportunity to ask for industry and career advice in his or her career field of interest and academic major. Interviews are typically conducted in-person, by phone or online via Skype.
This is a career exploration experience which offers the student an opportunity to spend time in his or her career field of interest with an active business professional. Students see firsthand what professionals actually do, what the working environment is like and the types of individuals with whom they will work.
YEAR-LONG MENTORSHIP EXPERIENCE:
This program component promotes the professional and career development of students through educational sessions and one-on-one mentoring with leading business executives. Students are paired with successful business professionals for one academic year (August through May). During this time, mentors provide educational and experiential opportunities for students which support future career success.
