For the second consecutive year, Auburn University’s online Master of Accountancy and Graduate Certificate in Accountancy programs are ranked among the top 10 programs in the country by U.S. News & World Report. The 2016 rankings list Auburn University #7 among the Best Online Graduate Business Programs (excluding MBA). This category was first published in 2015 and is “based on factors such as level of accreditation, reputation for excellence among peer institutions, and academic and career support services offered to students.”
The Auburn programs evaluated in this category include the Master of Accountancy, Graduate Certificate in Accountancy, Master of Information Systems, and Master of Finance. The methodology behind these rankings include an evaluation of the programs’ student engagement, admissions selectivity, peer reputation, faculty credentials and training, and student services and technology. Auburn University is proud to be ranked 7th out of 130 institutions included in this year’s report.
According to Amy Murphy, Director of Graduate and Online Accounting Programs, “we have students enrolled in our online accounting programs from 45 different states and 166 different previous universities. We are extremely pleased to be ranked among the top 10 programs in the U.S. for the second consecutive year. The Harbert College of Business leads the way in supporting the university’s mission “to provide traditional and non-traditional students broad access to the institution's educational resources.”
The Auburn University School of Accountancy has offered online accounting programs since 2000. This latest ranking from U.S. News and World Report adds to a long list of honors earned by the online accounting programs at Auburn University.
