Job Summary - Participates in a focused training program designed to prepare the participant
for a successful career as a Synovus Banker by building very specialized credit skills,
and developing overall knowledge of banking.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
■ Successfully completes specialized training courses covering accrual accounting, debt service coverage and more complex accounting concepts as applied to the analysis of financial risk. Under supervision, applies these skills in the work environment to demonstrate mastery of the topics.
■ Successfully completes training courses covering full loan underwriting – the credit write-up, levels of risk and mitigating factors, monitoring loans and minimizing loses. Under supervision, applies these skills in the work environment to demonstrate mastery of the topics.
■ Successfully completes training courses covering business lending, cash flow and asset conversion. Under supervision, applies the skills learned in a work environment, demonstrating mastery of these topics.
■ Develops advanced client service skills, including knowledge of products and services used to help commercial and corporate customers succeed.
■ Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Minimum of six hours of college level Accounting – with a passing grade of B or above
- Ability to quickly build constructive and effective relationships - relates well to people
- Very proficient in Excel
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong communication skills - verbal and written
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Internship or some work experience in the financial services industry
This position will start on July 9, 2018. Positions will be located throughout our footprint based on candidates' preference and company's needs.
