Job Summary: The Cobbs Allen Summer Internship Program consists of a nine week curriculum where rising college juniors and seniors gain practical experience in our areas of expertise. Students will follow a structured rotation through our Account Services and Client Services departments while working closely with department mentors. Students will shadow Insurance Consultants during sales calls and on-site client visits. Our curriculum is designed to expose interns to the core values and competencies that are fundamental to their success. Interns gain a deep understanding of the unique knowledge, skills and abilities associated with our departmental teams of high-performers.
Schedule: Internships are paid, seasonal positions that are nine weeks in length for Summer semester.
Orientation: Introduction to Cobbs Allen, overview of the program and professional development. Following orientation week, interns will rotate through the following departments.
Property & Casualty (P&C) Services: The Risk Management Consultants at Cobbs Allen help our clients evaluate their insurance and risk management needs, lower costs and create a more risk intelligent culture at their organizations.
Employee Benefits Services: Our Employee Benefits Division helps our clients create competitive benefits programs that are both affordable for the employer and valued by the employees.
Personal Insurance: Cobbs Allen provides personal risk management solutions to both individuals and families. We represent the best insurance carriers in the industry and customize insurance programs based on our clients’ personal needs and risk exposure.
Account Services: Account Service team members bridge the gap between the insurance firm and the client by responding to questions and concerns and serving as the clients point of contact. The main goal of the Account Service team is to provide superior customer service to our clients.
Client Services: Cobbs Allen provides a wide variety of services for our clients that include specialties in: Human Resources Consulting, Employee Benefits Communications, Safety & Loss Prevention Consulting, Claims Analytics and Workers’ Compensation Claim Management.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Observe sales calls and shadow Consultants on client visits
Assist with seeking, securing and qualifying prospects
Obtain information, complete applications, write specifications for programs and build/review strategic models under the supervision of Consultant
Assist in development, design, and consultation of employee benefit goals and programs under the supervision of Client Executive
Provide data entry support by compiling, consolidating and analyzing data
Conduct research, collect data, and participate in special projects, as needed
