Student representatives of Auburn University Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) asked to be keynote speakers at local East Alabama SHRM chapter meeting

Student representatives from the Auburn University Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) were recently invited to be keynote speakers at an East Alabama SHRM chapter meeting at the Saugahatchee Country Club in Opelika, AL. Marie Beverly, Emmy Njaaga, and Anna Katherine Kimbrough talked about life as HR students at the Harbert College of Business, covering everything from the HR curriculum model to internships and student organization involvement.
Following the event, Megan Sumners, EASHRM President and AU Alum, presented each student with a commemorative gift. EASHRM has long been a supporter of the student SHRM chapter, and frequently sponsors student chapter meetings in addition to providing speakers at chapter and college events.
Marie Beverly, 2016-2017 AUSHRM President, is a senior in Human Resource Management with a minor in Leadership Studies. Marie graduates in May and has accepted a position as a Training Coordinator with Fast Enterprises based in Denver, Colorado.
Emmy Njaaga, 2016-2017 AUSHRM Treasurer, is a junior in Human Resource Management with a minor in Psychology, and was recently elected as the incoming 2017-2018 AUSHRM President. She has been working part-time in an HR role with OCV, LLC in Auburn since April 2016.
Anna Katherine Kimbrough is an AUSHRM member and a senior in Human Resource Management. She is currently completing an HR internship at The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center.
The Society for Human Resource Management is a global organization with over 285,000 members in more than 165 countries. The Auburn University SHRM chapter is open to all majors and offers professional development opportunities for students interested in human resource management and related fields.
