Dr. Sutton's research has been published in numerous journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology and Harvard Business Review. Her work on such topics as women in management, stress and interpersonal communication has been cited in such places as ABC News, CNN News, Good Morning America, Wall Street Journal, Newsweek and Business Week. In 1991 she was named as one of five Irwin Fellows, an award given to top business professors in the U.S. In 2004 she received the Southwest Academy of Management's Award for Outstanding Teaching. In recognition of her work with business, nonprofit and professional organizations, Dr. Sutton was awarded the College of Business's 2000 Excellence in Outreach Award. Dr. Sutton regularly conducts seminars across the country for organizations as diverse as Sony, Center for Disease Control, and the State of Texas. She has served as president of the Southwest Academy of Management and of the Southwestern Federation of Administrative Disciplines and is vice president for the Southern Management Association.
