A career Air Force officer, James served as a command C-130 pilot, headquarters staff officer, academic instructor, and squadron operations officer. He has held various positions in finance, operations, safety, systems acquisition, and strategic planning, and has extensive international experience working in Asia, Europe, Africa, and South America. He currently teaches meteorology, air transport economics, and operations management courses, and is the faculty lead for the youth aviation summer enrichment program. Prior to his current position, James led Auburn's Summer Experience youth programs, as well as select professional and continuing education courses.
