Dr. LaDonna M. Thornton is an Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management in the Harbert College of Business at Auburn University.  Her current research focuses on political and social dynamics within the supply chain as well as alternative supply chains.  Dr. Thornton’s research has been published in Decision Sciences, Journal of Business Logistics, Journal of Supply Chain Management and the International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management.   Prior to joining academia, she worked in industry for 7 ½ years as a Distribution Manager then a Transportation Manager. During the course of her career she has received the 2019 Best Paper Nomination from The Journal of Supply Chain Management, 2014 Emerald Highly Commended Paper Award from the International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management, the University of Nebraska Research Development Fellowship, University of Nebraska Junior Faculty Research Potential Award, and the Delta Sigma Pi Outstanding Teaching Award.    LaDonna currently serves on the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals Research Strategies Committee.
