As Director of Communications and Marketing, Troy is responsible for planning, implementing, directing and evaluating Harbert College’s public relations and marketing strategies. He joined the Harbert College of Business in April 2013 after serving as Director of Communications and Marketing for Auburn University’s College of Education. He previously served as the College of Education’s Communications Editor.
Since arriving at Auburn University in 2008, his work has been recognized by the Public Relations Council of Alabama and the Southern Public Relations Federation. He is a member and former board member of the Public Relations Council of Alabama’s East Alabama Chapter and also holds memberships in the Southern Public Relations Federation and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
Before coming to Auburn, Troy worked as a journalist for 16 years, including 11 years with the Columbus (Ga.) Ledger-Enquirer. As a columnist with the Ledger-Enquirer, his work was honored by the Associated Press Sports Editors, McClatchy Newspapers, the Football Writers Association of America, the Georgia Press Association, Georgia Associated Press and the Georgia Sports Writers Association, among others. During his journalism career, Troy served as a Heisman Trophy voter and covered such events as the Super Bowl, the Masters and the Olympics.
