Troy Miller joined Auburn University on 2 May 2016 as the Director of Advancement for the Raymond J. Harbert College of Business.
Troy has worked in development for over 20 years, most recently as the Executive Director and Chief Development Officer for the Lock Haven University Foundation. At The Haven, Troy helped secure both the largest gift in the history of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, to name the Stephen Poorman College of Business at Lock Haven University, and the largest undesignated corporate gift in the country. During his tenure at Lock Haven University, his team helped increase total annual giving to the University from $2 million annually to over $10 million in fiscal year 2015-2016.
Prior to Lock Haven University, Troy was the Director of Individual Giving for both the Nittany Lion Club and the Milton S. Hershey College of Medicine at the Pennsylvania State University. During his time at Penn State, Troy was part of two $300 million campaigns and was part of the team that successfully solicited the largest gift in Penn State’s history ($88 million) to allow the club hockey program to become a successful NCAA Division I program. In addition, he managed the naming campaign for the Pegula Ice Arena.
Troy has experience in creating and managing exhaustive multi-year capital campaigns; managing development teams; working with volunteer leadership boards; creating and maintaining planned, major and annual giving campaigns; and strategic planning. He has also served on various local non-profit boards. Troy has been married to his wife Beth for 23 years and has two children, Peyton (17) and Paige (14).
