|award:||Young Entrepreneur of the Year|
|company:||Elite Transit Solutions|
Johnson, who earned a degree in supply chain management from Auburn’s Harbert College of Business, has led Pittsburgh-based Elite Transit Solutions to sustained growth since its foundation. The company, which reported $7.3 million in revenue in 2016, ranked 697th on the 2017 Inc. 5,000 list of the nation’s fastest-growing companies.
Elite Transit Solutions provides third-party shipping and logistics management services for clients across North America. The company offers sales and operations planning, marketing strategies, and proprietary automation-centric software, which minimizes opportunities for human error. The focus on automation has enabled Elite Transit Solutions to reduce driver idling time, reducing CO2 emissions. The company has also solidified its commitment to sustainability by going paperless, providing employee training electronically and keeping records on computers and tablets.
Within six weeks of beginning his career, Johnson helped launch a complete supply chain startup for one of the North America’s largest blood products suppliers. After completing that project, he became the youngest implementation manager to assist with the takeover of a segment of Microsoft’s supply chain for CEVA Logistics. He left CEVA Logistics to begin Elite Transit Solutions in 2011.
