The student-led startup Yellow Card Financial is at it again. After finishing second and pocketing $5,000 at the Global Student Entrepreneurship Awards national pitch competition and reeling in $25,000 last spring at eFest, the Harbert College student-led cryptocurrency business will be front and center at another national pitch competition.
Yellow Card Financial was named a finalist in the Richards Barrentine Values and Ventures Competition, which will be April 6-7 at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.
Yellow Card CEO Chris Maurice, a senior in finance, and Sarah Louise Boland, a junior in entrepreneurship and family business who is involved in Yellow Card's business development, will represent the company and Auburn University at the competition, where the winner claims $25,000. Justin Poiroux, a junior majoring in engineering, co-founded Yellow Card Financial with Maurice.
Yellow Card Financial has been working out of the Tiger Cage Accelerator, which provides student-led start-ups with office space and expert mentorship.
