The Alabama Power Company accounting internship is the perfect opportunity to gain experience with one of Alabama's premier employers. Internships are a great way to get your foot in the door for a full-time position.
Alabama Power’s Corporate Accounting function is looking for a temporary intern to primarily assist in the implementation efforts of the new Lease and Revenue Recognition standards. Please follow the link below and click the Accounting Intern (Temporary) posting. The minimum qualification is that a potential candidate must have completed his/her junior year in an accounting program, but, ideally, the candidate would have graduated with an accounting degree and could provide assistance for a 3 to 6 month period (possibly longer), beginning as early as mid-February. In the past, we have hired interns who graduated and were waiting for their start date at an accounting firm or waiting to begin graduate school. This opportunity would be perfect for such an individual. One further detail of note is that the internship will likely not lead to a full-time position at its completion, although it is a great way for a person to potentially get a foot in the door for a future full-time job posting.
This position will be with Alabama Power's corporate accounting office in downtown Birmingham. The hiring manager is Jared Franks. You must apply through the Southern Company, but you might also email Jared Franks with your résumé attached expressing your interest in the position.
The application deadline is February 15, 2017.
