Cox Enterprises, a leading communications, media and automotive services company in Atlanta, is hiring an Audit Services Advisory & Assurance Intern for Summer 2018. Applications will be accepted through February 16th.
Overview
The Cox Enterprises Audit Services (AS) team is a value-added internal advisory and assurance group that acts as a business partner to all Cox entities, the Cox Enterprises management team, the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, and the external auditors.
The mission of AS is to provide independent and objective advisory and assurance services designed to add value and improve the company’s operations. AS helps the company accomplish these objectives by utilizing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the operational and financial effectiveness of the Cox family businesses while also enhancing their compliance controls and mitigating their exposure to risk.
AS is a development program for high-potential employees and a springboard for future company leadership. We are seeking Summer interns for Summer 2018. Intern workload is targeted for a maximum of 40 hours weekly, but timing may be adjusted based on an intern’s availability. All internships are located in Atlanta.
Responsibilities
AS interns will support Cox business units by conducting and completing advisory and assurance engagements scoped around the following approaches and methodologies: Six Sigma process improvement, customer experience, market and business assessments, strategic alignment, mergers and acquisitions, data analytics, financial and operational controls, regulatory compliance, and IT security and vulnerability.
This program will provide extensive hands-on training as well as opportunities for formal classroom instruction. As fulltime members of their assigned project teams, Interns can expect to be exposed to a broad range of experiences including:
- Business strategy and best practice design
- Process mapping, analysis, and improvement
- Risk and control assessments
- Networking with key project and business stakeholders
- Exposure to Company leadership
Each intern will be assigned an Advisory & Assurance Manager for performance management and career development as well as an Advisory & Assurance Specialist to serve as their day-to-day mentor.
Qualifications
Professional Experience/Education
Presently engaged in a bachelor’s or master's program with a concentration in accountancy, finance, consulting, information technology, information systems audit, and control or similar discipline.
Minimum GPA of 3.2 on 4.0 scale is required
High degree of academic and extracurricular achievement
Work experience relevant to consulting or assurance a plus
Relevant coursework completed
