        RFID Lab Project Manager Opportunity

        The Auburn University RFID Lab is hiring a project manager starting in January 2020. The time commitment is approximately 20 hours per week and the role pays $30/hour. A 3.5+ GPA is preferred.

        Starting Pay: $30 / hour
        Time Commitment: 20 hours per week
        Valid for Internship Credit, as well as Graduate Assistantship

        Summary of Opportunity:

        The Auburn University RFID Lab is research center that focuses on the business case and technical
        implementation of emerging technologies in the retail, aviation, and aerospace industries. Since its inception
        in 2005, the RFID Lab has conducted a series of seminal business value studies that have led to the adoption of
        RFID and other IoT technologies throughout multiple industries. A significant share of the research being
        conducted today is performed by graduate and undergraduate students, and organizations like Nike, Under
        Armour, Walmart, Target, Delta, Boeing, and NASA are actively engaged in projects at the RFID Lab. This
        position is an outstanding opportunity for any individual looking to gain experience in the business world,

        Position Description:

        As a Project Manager, this role will be responsible for leading RFID pilots and related projects for corporate
        partners. Project Managers are responsible for all aspects of a project including external communications,
        internal coordination, data analysis, as well as major contributions to white papers and other published
        materials. Strong leadership skills are required for managing project teams, delegating tasks, and leading
        meetings and webinars. The ability to execute project plans in alignment with the Lab’s broader strategies are
        essential. Due to the hands-off management style of Lab leadership, a Project Manager must exhibit self-discipline and a strong work ethic in order to achieve the objectives relevant to any given project. Preference
        will be shown to graduate students with project management experience or undergraduate students with
        relevant work experience. Occasional travel will be required, with costs covered by the RFID Lab. Day-to-day
        responsibilities include:

        1. Coordinating with corporate partners and other external contacts
        2. Managing a small research team of 3-5 employees as well as their workflows
        3. Overseeing data analysis for respective projects
        4. Writing and contributing to white papers and academic research papers

        Requirements & Desired Skills:

        • Fluent in Microsoft Office applications (Powerpoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
        • Familiar with Data Analytics and Visualization software (Watson, Azure, Tableau, Power BI)

        • Strong oral and written communication skills
        • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
