        Fifth Third Bank Leadership Programs (LPs) are designed to provide meaningful work experience and develop future organizational leaders. The LPs consist of comprehensive on-the-job training supplemented by educational opportunities focused on banking, business, financial technology, leadership and team-building skills. The LPs are designed to enhance the career progression and performance of its participants through: providing exposure to a variety of related disciplines early in the participant’s career; developing mentor relationships with senior leadership members; focusing attention on education and career development opportunities; and delivering formal and informal performance coaching and feedback.

        While participating in the 10 week summer internship program, you will be aligned to an agile squad within an assigned IT business area.

        The Information Technology division is a business-focused team that drives significant value for the Bank while building innovative customer-centric service delivery models through our integration of technologies, data, and processes. Our organization aligns with customers in Commercial, Consumer and Wealth & Asset Management, in addition to groups that support the enterprise such as Shared Services, Corporate Applications, Information Security, and the Enterprise Data Office. Our goal is to recruit, develop, retain and benefit from “fresh” IT talent that upon program graduation will have built a potential leadership career at the Bank. We will do this by providing IT professionals a platform which inspires them to own their career path by enabling challenging growth opportunities, support, feedback, and exposure to industry trends. You will also be encouraged to give back to the community. The work you will do in IT at Fifth Third Bank will impact lives. At the end of the internship, interns will have the opportunity to present out on their contributions to leadership across the IT division.

        As a member of an agile squad, responsible for implementing new features and enabling capabilities using modern software engineering tools and practices. Adheres to practices and standards, set by communities of practice, and contributes to a culture of continuous improvement. Shares responsibility and accountability for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Doing the right thing for customers and colleagues ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience.

        Opportunities will vary depending on the participant’s specific skill set and business needs but could include:

        Software Engineer:: Contribute to an existing or new application by designing workflows, writing code, and coordinating defect fixes with QA.

        Agilists: Works to ensure their Agile Squad understands and applies Agile and Scrum values and principles that enable their Agile Squad to form into a high-performing team, delivering sustained business value in an Agile manner.

        Business Architects: Assists with creating and evolving technology product roadmaps for business capabilities, ensuring that the technology is sound, supports the business needs, and represents the best use of the enterprises investment for that business capability.

        Product Owner: Partners with Line of Business teams, business functions, and IT teams to define product needs and opportunities within targeted line of business(es) and/or function.

        Intern assignments are located in Cincinnati, OH.

        Majors: Management Information Systems,Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Cyber /Information Security, Programming, Software Engineering and other technology- related majors.

        Qualifications

        • Strong academic record (minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA)
        • Strong written and verbal communication skills
        • Previous internship and/or co-op experience preferred
        • Demonstrated proficiency in critical thinking, leadership, business acumen, relationship building and teamwork experience through extracurricular activities, work experience or academic pursuits
        • A bachelor’s degree upon graduation is required. Masters degree students are welcome to apply but should have one year or less of prior professional experience.
