        Position Summary

        The role of a Business Data & Analytics intern is to assist in providing our clients and internal staff with metrics to help enlighten and make better decisions using data. Day-to-day tasks consist of data extraction & data aggregation in tools such as Excel, Cognos, Power BI, and UI Path.

        Throughout the internship, the Intern will be working with key IT resources to extract and consolidate data from various data sources and entities, meeting with customers both internal and external to understand business problems that we are facing and solving through business insight and data. Presentation of those findings to key stakeholders in the business will learn real-world concepts, methodologies and techniques as it relates to Data & Analytics.

        Internship Dates: June 3 – August 9, 2019

        Responsibilities

        • Work directly with key IT resources to extract and consolidate data from various data sources and entities
        • Meeting with customers both internal and external to understand business problems that we are facing and solving through business insight through data
        • Completing key weekly reports sent to internal and external clients
        • Monitoring analytics and metrics
        • Innovating—Developing new data analysis methodologies
        • Working with sales teams to deliver trends in client engagements
        • Shared responsibility in organizing and collecting meeting notes, key deliverables and timelines
        • Maintain appropriate records of research methods and results
        • Effectively communicate project status to management and business stakeholders
        • Upholds the Crawford Code of Conduct

        Requirements

        • Rising sophomore or higher in good standing at an accredited college or university is required
        • Grade Point Average of at least 2.5 or equivalent is required
        • Prior work experience of some type is required
        • Pursuing a major in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or Risk Management & Insurance is preferred
        • Working knowledge of various analytics platforms & business support applications such as MS Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, Project) required
        • General exposure to SQL and accessing database structures for database systems such as Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server or Microsoft Access is preferred
        • Ability to facilitate effective and efficient meetings to gather information and outline processes
        • Work successfully in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment in which meticulous attention to detail is expected
        • Exhibit exceptional organizational, time management, multi-tasking, and analytical/problem solving skills
        • Takes initiative to accomplish business objectives, seek new assignments, and request to learn more about the business
