        Kurt Sasser

        Director of Development


        Professional Activities

        Kurt Sasser comes to Auburn with experience in higher education and in the private sector. The past three years Sasser has worked at Delta Air Lines in Global Sales. Upon arriving to Delta, he worked in the strategic sales division, leading a corporate and agency portfolio of 30 accounts totaling over $16 million of JV revenue. Sasser was key in shifting share and driving revenue with corporate and agency accounts located in heavily competitive markets.

        In his most recent role, Sasser served as an account executive at Delta. He was responsible for growing Delta’s presence within the community of Nashville and creating new revenue platforms ensuring Delta was at the forefront of the Nashville consumer. Sasser served on Delta’s internal matrix focus city team which was tasked with growing the P&L of the city by maximizing market share and growing revenue.  He worked closely with his B2B portfolio totaling over $40 million of joint venture revenue and many Nashville community stakeholders including: Nashville Airport Authority, Nashville Chamber of Commerce, Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation, and the Country Music Association.

        Before his time at Delta, Sasser worked for Auburn where he served as the director of development for the division of student affairs. During his time at Auburn, Sasser established corporate and individual partnerships through a myriad of philanthropic initiatives. He led a team that was charged with reconnecting alumni and parents from across the country. Through these efforts he and his team created a fundraising platform that resulted in strong year over year growth of philanthropic funds.

        Sasser is a two-time graduate of the Harbert College of Business—Business Administration, 2011 and MBA, 2016, and he is looking forward to carrying out the mission and the vision of the college.

        Sasser and his wife, Kelly, have two children, Adalynn and Shepherd. In his spare time, he enjoys running, playing golf, grilling out with his family, reading, and sailing.
