Group Advising
Business students who have declared a major can participate in small group advising sessions that include no more than 15 students, all of whom are in the same academic program. Group sessions allow students to receive individualized advising while also learning from their peers and meeting new students in their major. Feedback from participating students is overwhelmingly positive.
Group advising sessions are held each Fall and Spring semester. Students can sign up for a session once they receive an invitation email from their advisor. The general timeline for these sessions is as follows:
Fall Semester | Spring Semester | |
Students receive email invitation |
August - September |
January |
Group sessions are conducted |
September - October |
January - March |
Registration begins |
November |
April |
Students who do not participate in a group session may visit with their advisor on a one-on-one basis throughout the semester. However, because of high student demand, advisor availability decreases and wait times increase as registration approaches. To avoid this, we strongly recommend that you complete your advising at least 2-3 weeks before your time ticket opens. Time tickets can be checked in AU Access.
