With an accounting degree, you’ll gain tangible skills that can be applied in all areas of business. The accounting field is expected to grow by 22 percent by 2018 – even in the face of the economic downturn.
As a first year staff accountant, new graduates interact with CEOs, CFOs, and Controllers, and create networking opportunities that are the springboard to a successful career.
Prior to graduation, accounting majors are highly recruited by top companies for internship positions. At the conclusion of the internship, most students are offered full-time employment and enroll in the Harbert Master of Accountancy (MAcc) Program. Auburn students who go on to take the Certified Public Accountants exam have one of the highest pass rates in the country – 10 times the national average.
What sets Harbert School of Accountancy apart?
Our CPA pass rates place us in the top 15% of large programs with first time candidates. In fact, since 2005, our MAcc students have achieved an average pass rate of 85% across all four parts of the exam.
The school’s online programs (B.S. in Accounting and the Master of Accountancy) have earned Top 10 national rankings from U.S. News & World Report.
With more than 500 declared undergraduate students, accounting vies to be the biggest academic program in the Harbert College.
Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee boast the highest concentrations of Auburn accounting graduates, although many choose to pursue careers in major cities like New York, San Francisco, Denver, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, and Miami.
