Katie Thompson

Biography

A two-time Auburn graduate, Katie Thompson (BS marketing ’88, MBA ’90) brings more than 20 years of account management and professional sales experience in the food, real estate and broadcast television industries to her new role as a development officer in the Harbert College of Business.

As an undergraduate, Thompson was a member of the Auburn Tigers women’s swim team – Team Captain and All American . She continued her athletics involvement as a graduate assistant while pursuing her MBA. 

She began her sales career with Kraft Foods, followed by a stint with Sysco Foods. In 1995, she became an entrepreneur, managing her family-owned mail-order business in the Birmingham area. She sold the business in 2004 and pursued residential real estate with ReMax for eight years followed by an eight-year career in broadcast sales with both NBC and Fox affiliate stations in Central Alabama.

She and her husband Jamie are excited to return to Auburn, where she can contribute to the continued success of her alma mater.
