        Professional Activities

        Colquitt teaches the Principles of Risk and Insurance, Property/Liability, and Principles of Business Finance courses. His current research interests include the analyses of agency theory issues as they relate to insurance and insurance company operations, various reporting requirements of insurers, and the investment practices of insurers.

        Colquitt has been published in such journals as the Journal of Risk and Insurance, the North American Actuarial Journal, the Journal of Insurance Regulation, the Journal of Insurance Issues, Risk Management and Insurance Review, and the CPCU Journal.

        Colquitt has been the recipient of the College of Business Research of the Year Award and numerous teaching awards at Auburn. Prior to academia, he worked in employee benefits with The Guardian and The Equitable. Colquitt has served as president of both the Southern and Western Risk and Insurance Associations and is also a member of ARIA and the Risk Theory Society.

        Finally, he is the founder and Executive Director of Tau Sigma National Honor Society, a national honor society designed specifically to recognize and promote the academic excellence and involvement of transfer students. Tau Sigma has inducted over 70,000 members and currently has over 170 chapters nationwide.
