Dr. Sreehas Gopinathan earned his PhD in information systems from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2024. His doctoral dissertation focused on using graph neural networks (GNNs) to predict patent litigation in the pharmaceutical industry. Other research projects include using GNNs to analyze social learning dynamics on dark web forum sites and developing AI-based technology to prevent the spread of misinformation using bots.
He teaches Business Data Management and Acquisition (BUAL 5500), Introduction to AI (BUAL3100) and Capstone Projects (BUAL 5860). As a visiting professor at the University of Texas, he taught Python Programming and Advanced Data Science and Machine Learning courses.
Prior to joining Harbert College, Gopinathan was an enterprise AI product architect at Infosys, a global digital services and consulting firm, where he led the implementation of technology-focused projects for clients in the banking, financial, sports, semiconductor and insurance industries. He also worked as a manager of analytics for Genpact and Accenture in Bangalore, India, developing and implementing models related to patient healthcare outcomes and drug efficacy.
