Biography
Stephanie Buffaloe brings 20-plus years of industry experience to her role as lecturer in the Harbert College of Business. She founded and led a medical billing company in Florence, Alabama, and founded a Home Instead senior-care franchise in Tuscaloosa. Her Appleton Senior Care Inc. was recognized for being among the fastest-growing companies founded, owned, or led by Auburn alumni.
A passionate teacher, she incorporates the practical lessons she learned from both enterprises into her instruction for the Strategic Management (MNGT 4800) and Management in Global Business Environment (MNGT 4100) courses she teaches at Harbert.
A first-generation college graduate, Buffaloe holds a juris doctor degree from the Birmingham School of Law, a doctor of business administration from Liberty University, and an MBA from Harbert Business, along with a bachelor's degree in management from the University of North Alabama.
Outside of the classroom, Buffaloe serves in executive leadership roles with the Alzheimer's Association at the state and national levels, raising awareness and funding to battle the disease that took the lives of two family members. In the summer of 2026, she traveled to Washington, D.C. and met with senior members of Congress to advocate for legislation supporting the widespread adoption of a new FDA-approved blood test that detects Alzheimer's before symptoms appear — and at a time when early treatments can be most effective.
In her free time, she enjoys playing golf and traveling — she has been to every continent except Antarctica.
