        Bio

        Sumin Han’s research focuses on developing innovative algorithms and modeling techniques to analyze and draw insights from large data sets. She has applied those techniques to research studies in a variety of sectors, including marketing, health care, banking, business management, social networks, and mergers & acquisitions.

        She has published more than 20 journal papers in peer-reviewed business and machine learning journals. In 2019, she received an Outstanding Paper award from the European Journal of Marketing.

        A member of Auburn’s Harbert College of Business faculty since 2017, Han teaches Business Analytics I & II, Principles of Predictive Modeling and Business Decision with Predictive Modeling courses.

        She won the Department of Business Analytics and Information Systems teaching award in 2021 and the Harbert College Outstanding Faculty Member award (presented by Auburn Student Government Association) in 2020.

        Earlier in her career, she taught at the University of Tennessee and Hofstra University.
