Online graduate programs at Auburn University’s Harbert College of Business continue to rank among the nation’s best as its MBA jumps into the top 20 of U.S. News & World Report’s 2023 Best Online Programs rankings.
The Auburn MBA earned a #19 ranking, up from #31 in 2022, based on U.S. News’ review of 373 accredited public and private schools in the online space. Among specialty rankings, the MBA is #12 for general management and #13 for business analytics. Additionally, students with military experience gave high marks for affordability and accessibility, placing Harbert College at #14 among Best Online MBA Programs for Veterans.
“The online MBA at Harbert College has ranked among the nation’s top 20 programs for eight of the past 10 years, reflecting not only the caliber of our online students but also the consistent commitment of our faculty to engage students in an online environment,” said Associate Dean of Graduate and Executive Programs Michael Wesson. “It is also to the credit of our high-performing students, who are already in challenging careers but choose to add an MBA credential in order to take on additional responsibilities in their professions. We have worked hard to offer them a highly flexible curriculum at a relatively low cost.”
Harbert College moved to #27 for Best Online Master's in Business Programs, up four slots from 2022, and is #12 for Best Online Master's in Business Programs (non-MBA) for Veterans.
“We constantly assess how we can better engage with our online graduate students. We recently introduced CAMP Harbert, giving online graduate students an on-campus experience that will strengthen professional networks, build a community of learners, and provide a unique Auburn campus experience,” said Jim Parrish, executive director of online and full-time MBA. “Additionally, a global immersion experience—a key component of most on-campus graduate program curriculums—is now offered to online students, enabling them to meet face-to-face with business leaders in other countries and learn first-hand the business opportunities and challenges abroad.”
U.S. News’ rankings, released Jan. 24, are based on statistical data and peer assessment surveys measuring student engagement and excellence, the strength of faculty, and the effectiveness of technology used to facilitate online learning.
