Reagan Consulting, Inc. is a partner-owned investment banking firm based in Atlanta, GA. Its main focus is the insurance distribution industry. Reagan provides M&A advisory, transaction services, and strategic consulting to hundreds of the strongest firms in insurance distribution, including more than two-thirds of the top 100 agents and brokers in the U.S.
Reagan is hiring a 2027 Transaction Services Summer Intern to join the team in Atlanta. The Transaction Services team provides buy-side transaction advisory and financial due diligence to companies that acquire insurance agencies and brokers. Interns work on live engagements, mostly buy-side M&A, as full members of the team. They get direct, hands-on exposure to Analysts, Senior Associates, Vice Presidents, and Partners.
What interns support:
- Buy-side financial due diligence and quality of earnings (QoE) analysis
- Revenue testing, including tying carrier commission statements and agency bill invoices back to the general ledger
- Analysis of production and book-of-business data (top customers, carriers, producers, and lines of business)
- Building and maintaining financial databooks and diligence models
- Managing due diligence request lists and collecting data from sellers
- Preparing client deliverables and taking part in client communications
What Reagan is looking for:
- Strong accounting and financial skills. A background in accounting, finance, or economics is preferred. Familiarity with financial accounting and financial statement analysis is a plus.
- Excel skills. Most of the work involves large, complex datasets and spreadsheets, so you need to be very comfortable using Excel creatively.
- Attention to detail. Due diligence means working in many detailed datasets. You'll need to stay organized, solve complex issues, think critically, and ask informed questions.
- Strong analytical skills. You'll analyze complex financial and operational data and work out what it means for the engagement and the client.
- Effective communication skills. You'll need to communicate clearly in writing and in client conversations, including summarizing findings and following up with sellers on outstanding items.
- A strong work ethic. The team works hard to stay at the top of the industry.
The internship is in person five days a week, Monday through Friday (40 hours). Strong performers may be offered a full-time Transaction Services Associate position after graduation.
