        Internship Overview

        Sony Music Publishing is seeking a student pursuing an accounting degree to remotely intern for this summer/fall with the option to extend the internship through the rest of the year. If you are local to Nashville this summer, you can go into the office when the department goes in (hybrid) and the pay is $15/hour.


        What You'll Do:

        • Complete bank, fixed asset, and other account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of our general ledger
        • Record monthly accruals consistent with US GAAP
        • Gather supporting documentation for our fixed asset records
        • Archive check images
        • Generate invoices to send to affiliates and external parties for masters uses, royalties, and service fees
        • Assist with other accounting processes as needed 

        Qualifications

        • Currently enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a degree in Accounting
        • Passionate about the music and entertainment business, and have a desire to build a career in the industry
        • Able to adapt quickly to a changing environment with minimal disruption
        • An excellent communicator and enthusiastic collaborator who works well with team
          members, external partners, and senior management
        • You are hungry to learn and grow. You are curious, ask questions and get excited about new projects
        • A highly organized person that pays close attention to the details
        • Proven Excel experience
        • Sound, professional presence over the phone and during times of stress
        • Must be authorized to work in the United States
        • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic computer skills
        • Experience using CRM and accounting information systems are a plus
        • Knowledge of Excel Macros is a plus
        • 7.5-hour business workday with the option of attending late-night events
        • Availability for remote work during fall semester (10-15 hours per week, not during school breaks)
