Professional Activities

Garry L. Adams (PhD, Florida State University) is an associate professor of strategic management and the PhD program coordinator at Auburn University.  Adams' research interests include corporate governance, power and politics in organizations, organizational learning and resource management, merger and acquisition integration processes, and CEO and firm reputation. His work has been published or is in press in outlets such as the Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Leadership Quarterly, Business Horizons, Journal of Knowledge Management, Journal of Business and Psychology, Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies, Journal of Managerial Issues, and the initial volume of The Many Faces of Multi-Level Issues, among others.

Adams currently serves on the editorial board for Group and Organizational Management and has served as a reviewer for the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management, Journal of Business Research, Knowledge Management Research and Practice, and Journal of Applied Social Psychology. He currently serves as the program chair in the officer rotation for the Southern Management Association and has served as the director of placement services for the Academy of Management and on the boards of the Southern Management Association and Lee County (AL) Habitat for Humanity. Adams has prior work experience in the oil refining industry.

He is a member of the Academy of Management, the Strategic Management Society, the Center for the Advancement of Research Methods and Analysis (CARMA), the Southern Management Association, and the Management Faculty of Color Association.  He is a Phi Kappa Phi and a Beta Gamma Sigma member, as well as a McKnight Fellow.
