In response to feedback from our “Lessons Learned” survey, several of the task force members volunteered to share and demonstrate how they use particular tools and techniques for their classes. Their tips are supplemented with other available online resources.

Jennifer Cornett, School of Accountancy, discusses her two-years’ experience using Honorlock and the tips and best practices she has learned along the way. She also demonstrates her Honorlock set-up, as well as how she efficiently manages and evaluates “red flag” exam sessions for her large course sections.

Mark Clark, Department of Supply Chain Management, demonstrates how to rename a Panopto video, copy a Panopto file for use in another Canvas section, move a Panopto file, as well as how to edit a recording to delete sections or insert another video clip into the original recording.
Emory Serviss, Department of Marketing, pulls together several great video tutorials for advanced features including recording and sharing, using breakout rooms, and using iPad whiteboard concurrently with presenter window. He adds his tips throughout the video.

Karen Hopkins, Department of Marketing, describes her experiences using discussion boards for student engagement and includes an overview of both Canvas Discussion Board and Packback, which uses AI to evaluate student contributions.
