Dr. Herbert Jack Rotfeld, Auburn University Alumni Professor of Marketing, was recently recognized by the American Academy of Advertising as “Best Reviewer”
for the international publication Journal of Current Issues & Research in Advertising (JCIRA) for 2014.
Rotfeld, who has worked at the Harbert College of Business since 1988, considers participation in the review process “a privilege and an obligation.”
“The double-blind peer review process is the core value of research publication standards,”
he said. “As such, it is an honor to be called upon to serve important journals in
my discipline as a recognized expert in a field to review new submissions.
“As a former editor, I am sensitive to the ongoing problem to get quality reviews
that aide in the feedback. As a senior scholar in my field, it is my obligation to
assist the important publications in their mission.”
The American Academy of Advertising (AAA), the international organization that owns
both JCIRA and the Journal of Advertising, has honored Rotfeld in the past with their Kim B. Rotzoll Award for Advertising
Ethics and Social Responsibility (2006), the Ivan L. Preston Outstanding Contribution
to Research Award (2000), and was elected to serve as AAA President in 2011.
