Jim Barth believes Janet Yellen could be the "odd-on favorite" to replace Ben Bernanke as Fed Chairman, should Bernanke step down.

Will Ben Bernanke, Chairman of the Federal Reserve, receive another term or be asked to step down? If Bernanke were to vacate the post, then who would replace him?

Auburn University Harbert College of Business Lowder Eminent Scholar in Finance Jim Barth told China Central Television (CCTV) on June 19 that the “odds-on favorite is Janet Yellen, the current vice chairman of the Fed.”

“I think the president likes her, otherwise she wouldn’t have been appointed vice president of the Fed,” said Barth, a Milken Institute Senior Fellow, who was interviewed on the Biz Asia television show for approximately five minutes.
