Students visit a donation table set up in Lowder Hall
A donation table offering goodies and gift information will be on the Lowder Hall ground floor near the Lowder Lounge this Thursday, and again on April 10, April 15 and April 16.

“The College of Business has given me so much from all of the resources we have here at Lowder Hall. Only a small part of the tuition goes toward funding. If we want to make the College of Business be a prominent force, we need to keep on giving.”

And now it’s time to give back.

Students have the opportunity to do just that beginning with the #cob13in13 campaign, a fund-raiser that is soliciting donations of just $13 from each College of Business student. Though Auburn University has more than 3,000 students involved in the College of Business, a goal of 330 student gifts has been set. If this goal is reached, which offers $4,290 to the college, Dean Bill Hardgrave will participate in a Harlem Shake video with each student who made a donation.

“It’s not a focus on the amount of the gift,” said College of Business Advancement Coordinator Stacee Peer. “It’s about students getting involved with giving before graduation. It also brings awareness that private funding is so important to the College of Business.”

Students can pledge donations – and pick up sweet treats – at a donation table centered on the ground floor of Lowder Hall adjacent to the Lowder Lounge on Thursday, April 4; Wednesday, April 10; and Monday and Tuesday, April 15-16.

Though donations of $13 each are being asked, any contribution of a nominal amount is accepted.

Gifts can be designated to a variety of programs within the College of Business, including College of Business Scholarships; Women in Business Executive Society; School of Accountancy; Investment Club; Beta Gamma Sigma; Department of Management; Business & International Education; War Eagle Flying Team; Department of Marketing; SHRM; Delta Sigma Pi; Aviation & Supply Chain Management; Sigma Iota Epsilon; Financial Management Society; Department of Finance; MIS Honor Society; Women in Aviation; OPCD; Alpha Kappa Psi; International Business Club; Association of Graduate Business Students; Auburn Supply Chain Management; Association Financial Leadership Society; AU Marketing Association; Beta Alpha Psi.

“It’s important that if you’re involved in the College of Business -- private funding contributes to a lot of what we use, such as the OPCD (Office of Professional and Career Development),” said Dana Holland, a junior from Sylacauga majoring in international business. “It also encourages our faculty at the College of Business when they see how much the students do care.”
