Industry experts from General Electric, Microsoft, Walmart and DHL Supply Chain will discuss the links between technology adoption and supply chain success at the Fusion 2017: Supply Chain + Technology symposium hosted by the Harbert College of Business on Thursday, April 27.

Presented by the college’s Center for Supply Chain Innovation, Fusion 2017 will enable supply chain and logistics practitioners to engage in discussion of such topics as digital technology, supply chain strategy in the omnichannel era, blockchain and disruptive technology. The event will be held at Saugahatchee Country Club.

Brian Gibson, Executive Director of the Center for Supply Chain Innovation and Wilson Family Professor of supply chain in the Harbert College, will discuss technology as a driver of the supply chain. Jennifer Schopfer, Executive Director of Asset Performance Management & Analytics for GE Transportation, will serve as the keynote speaker and address the 125-year-old company has transformed itself and its customers through digitization.

Microsoft Global Business Strategist Yorke Rhodes will provide a future view of blockchain technology and how it applies to supply chain.

Panel sessions will focus on supply chain strategies and technologies in omnichannel, as well, as how analytics software, real-time location tracking solutions, and the Internet of Things can optimize supply chain processes. Executives from Walmart, DHL Supply Chain, Chainalytics, Logility, CMAC Technology Solutions and PLUS Location Systems will serve as panelists.
