Master of Accountancy (MAc) students have an opportunity to travel to Sao PĆ£ulo and Rio de Janeiro this December with classmates and faculty to get a better understanding of Brazil's industries, economy, and culture.

"It's a huge bonding experience between the students and faculty," said MAc Program Director Amy Murphy, who said she expects approximately 40 students to travel abroad in December of 2013.

The international trip is a valuable component of the program, Murphy said.

Last December, students in the MAc program got a taste of Buenos Aires, Argentina, where they met with executives from Accenture, worked with a local non-profit organization, met with executives from Fonseca Leather, a leading leather tannery, and Bodegas Norton, one of the largest wineries in Brazil and enjoyed a number of activities including kayaking near Tigre, Argentina. The students also met an Auburn alum who started a successful IT consulting business in Buenos Aires, Inaka.
