“The opportunity to tap into the collective knowledge of such a diverse group of financial and development leaders in Atlanta was incredibly beneficial to the industry professionals attending the meeting.”

Auburn University adjunct professor Greg Winchester led an all-star panel of investors, bankers and developers in addressing future challenges and opportunities for real estate development and capital markets during the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Capital Markets Council (CMC) meeting, held Nov. 5 at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.

winchesterWinchester, who instructs and heads industry and alumni relations for Auburn’s Master of Real Estate Development program, moderated the discussion entitled, “The Roaring or Whimpering 20s?” Panelists revealed their crystal ball predictions for the multifamily housing, retail, hospitality, industrial, infrastructure, and office sectors for the coming decade, both regionally and nationally.

"The opportunity to tap into the collective knowledge of such a diverse group of financial and development leaders in Atlanta was incredibly beneficial to the industry professionals attending the meeting," Winchester said.

Panelist remarks indicated general enthusiasm for real estate and capital markets through the end 2021. The audience also indicated that industrial and multifamily would continue to lead the way as the real estate market moves forward sailing into headwinds.

More than 40 members of ULI Atlanta’s CMC and guests attended the breakfast and networking event held at the Federal Reserve Banking Building in Midtown Atlanta.

The CMC, a leadership initiative of ULI Atlanta, started in 2014 to exchange information, trends, and perspectives on the state of the real estate capital markets. The CMC provides a unique opportunity for leadership to engage in two-way conversations on market trends, monetary policy, real-time issues and opportunities in the real estate market.
