Credit Analyst Intern:
The Consumer Credit and Merchant Risk team designs, develops, implements, validates
and monitors receivables performance through data-driven, profit-based policies and
strategies across all of GreenSky’s verticals and products. The team is structured
under two core functions:
- Consumer Credit Risk Management: decision criteria for underwriting and credit lifecycle management of consumer installment loans
- Merchant Risk Management: merchant risk underwriting, monitoring and lifecycle risk management
Potential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide analytical support in the identification of credit risks and opportunities and the creation of strategic or tactical recommendations
- Conduct quantitative analysis and analyze large volumes of data to identify emerging consumer credit performance or merchant profitability trends
- Perform root cause analysis of changing trends to identify performance drivers
- Collaborate with cross functional partners in finance, operations, IT, compliance, etc. to develop and test hypotheses and achieve business objectives
- Clearly and concisely communicate results of analysis both in writing and verbally
- Produce reports and analysis to monitor and track performance of strategies or tests
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering or Computer Science
- SQL, Python, R or similar programming skills and experience
- Passionate about using data and analytics to solve business problems and eager to learn about financial services and consumer lending
- Skilled communicator with ability to influence others
- Aggressive, persistent, and inquisitive personality
- Strong organization, planning and project management skills
- Experience analyzing data in Excel using pivot table, vlookups, charts, etc.
- Flexibility and ability to thrive in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment
Finance Intern:
The Finance Intern will assist in the development and monitoring of:
- Business line financial forecasts
- Business line profitability analysis, key operating metric tracking, analysis, interpretation and reporting
- Loan product profitability analysis and dashboard reports
- Competitor analysis
The Finance intern will also develop and provide key metrics and insights to senior
management that allow for informed decision making.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing Bachelors or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- Experience in using MS Excel
- Eager to learn about financial services and consumer lending
- Detail oriented
- Willingness to experiment, learn, and grow creatively
- Analytical and problem solving skills and aptitude for learning overall business
- Collaborates well in a team environment, have outstanding communications skills and is able to take direction
