Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of The Weather Company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting and accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of financial principles within the technology industry.
- Competitive Starting Compensation and Benefits: Compensation range starts at $85,000 annually. The total compensation package will include a bonus, comprehensive medical/dental/vision insurance, PTO, 401K, etc.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Provide support for month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.
- Collaborate with colleagues and management to monitor the company's budget and financial forecasts. Monitor performance against budget and provide insights and recommendations.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, reviewing and approving journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls. Stay updated on changes in accounting rules and regulations.
- Aid with financial audits, both internal and external. Respond to auditor inquiries and implement audit recommendations.
- Ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in the accounting and finance functions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to prepare and explain financial data to business leaders and managers, team members, clients, internal and external auditors, and other business contacts.
- Highly developed organizational and prioritizing abilities, with prior administrative management expertise preferred.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, function independently and accurately, and meet deadlines.
- Willingness and ability to be flexible to changing needs.
- Proficiency in NetSuite ERP solution
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1-2 years of experience in accounting, assurance, or audit capacity OR Master’s degree in related field
- CPA is desired, NOT required
