At the Harbert College of Business, you will become familiar with the institutions, theory, and practice involved with finance, including areas of corporate finance, financial institution, financial markets, and investments.

More than 200 students completed internships in 20 states in 2019. These internships give students the valuable opportunity to learn about finance in practice and enhance their career prospects.
For three years, the program has achieved a 100% junior internship placement rate and a 100% senior employment rate for Financial Management Association Honor Society members.
Our students work for Fortune 500 companies and investment banks all over the world: New York City, Atlanta, Birmingham, Nashville, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Charlotte, Ireland, and Amsterdam.
The Harbert College of Business finance students strengthen analytical skill sets through internships with companies across 20 states and case competitions.
Below are recommended finance electives based on career interests. These recommendations are non‐binding and these career interests do not appear on a transcript, diploma, or university curriculum. Students only need to meet the degree requirements and do not need to complete any particular group of electives to graduate. Be sure to check prerequisites. Other electives may be offered and if you are working fulltime in a paid finance role, you may be able to get internship credit with FINC 4920 (restrictions apply).
