Professional Activities
Cicero joined Auburn University in 2016 as an associate professor. His research focuses
on agency issues in public corporations, corporate governance, and executive compensation.
His work has been published in the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Management Science, and the Journal of Corporate Finance. It has also been featured in popular media outlets including The Wall Street Journal, Businessweek, Reuters, and The Harvard Business Review. He currently serves as an associate editor at the Journal of Corporate Finance and as a vice president of the Eastern Finance Association.
His teaching experience includes investments, corporate finance, and financial institutions,
and he received an Award for Outstanding Teaching by a Graduate Student at the University
of Georgia.
Before entering academia, Cicero spent time practicing corporate law and as a financial
economist with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
