        Professional Activities

        Mathis’s research focuses on the intersection of financial accounting and corporate taxation.  She specifically studies the US taxation of foreign earnings. Her work has been presented at the American Tax Association mid-year meeting, the American Accounting Association annual meeting, and the Oklahoma State University accounting research conference.

        Mathis teaches Income Taxation 2 at Auburn. She has also taught Income Taxation 1, Intermediate 1, and financial accounting as a graduate student at Oklahoma State. Mathis is a licensed CPA in the state of Oklahoma where she received the honorable mention for the gold medal for her exam scores. She also received the outstanding graduate research award and the outstanding graduate teaching award at Oklahoma State in 2016.
