Scott McGlon has a proven entrepreneurial track record of building and managing multiple profitable startups since 1998. Expertise in transportation/logistics, e-commerce, mass-customization software development, business financial planning, startup & business consulting, marketing, and brand building. With his seven wholly-owned or majority-owned startups, all were profitable and debt-free, and the majority boasted YOY growth of 15%+. McGlon's startups were in five different industries (transportation, real estate, manufacturing, e-commerce, and retail).
McGlon holds minority ownership in four startups and advises 10+ early-stage startups as of 2020. McGlon works closely with many startups he both invests in and assists. He has a "boots on the ground" approach and loves to get his hands dirty, showing young entrepreneurs exactly what it takes to be successful long-term.
Since late 2015, McGlon has been very passionate toward assisting young entrepreneurs, start-ups, and advancing the entrepreneurship program initiatives and ecosystem at Auburn University. This opportunity allows him to train, deploy, and share his very diverse 20+ year entrepreneurial experiences.
McGlon's core competencies include working with startups, bootstrapping to optimize resources, business operations, e-commerce platform development, innovative marketing/branding, mass-customization, social media management, basic to strategic SEO, MLA search counter strategies, project management, turnaround strategies, transportation & logistics strategies—MRP, TMS, and WMS deployment.
McGlon moved his family to Auburn in the Summer of 2017. He has two children: Lauren who graduated from AU in supply chain May 2019 and now lives in Phoenix; and, Patrick who is a sophomore at Auburn High School. His wife of 24 years, Shannon, is an Auburn graduate and currently assists McGlon with all endeavors of their primary business, McGlon Properties, LLC.
