Why did you choose the Auburn Executive MBA program?

Choosing Auburn ended up being a very easy choice for me with the structure of the program and the value being extremely high compared to other programs I researched. The week-long residencies are beneficial to focus solely on the EMBA program while I am on campus and in forging lasting relationships within the cohort and our professors. Lastly, having toured the new b-school building, Horton-Hardgrave Hall, I was thrilled to see the current investment in the program and its ability to deliver our education with the most modern capabilities possible.

As you conclude your first week of residency, how would you describe the experience?

While not in person as hoped, the virtual delivery of the residency was phenomenal. Our professors had access to a proper video production studio which allowed for high quality presentation of the materials and lectures. Kicking off with the course Organizational Leadership, Ethics and Change was the perfect way to break the ice with the cohort and stimulated great group discussion. Not only did we learn about each other's professional experiences, we were able to learn about each other as individuals. I am looking forward to digging deeper with my classmates as we leverage each other on this journey.

When we can welcome you and your cohort to campus, what are you most looking forward to?

I am looking forward to more individual and small group conversations with my classmates. We engaged virtually to the best of our ability, but I know we are all looking forward to January and meeting in person. Most of us choose a cohort style program for the unique opportunity to learn not only from our textbooks and professors but also from our peers. Yes, I am looking forward to diving into the case studies but more so those great learning opportunities that arise impromptu through in-person connection with professors and classmates.

What do you hope to achieve through the Auburn Executive MBA program?

I am hoping to find a better definition of myself through the exploration of other's experiences. Capturing and being confident in my style of leadership, my style of negotiation, etc. I would like to leave Auburn with an increased sense of my ability to lead and achieve. I believe this program has an appropriate mix of theoretical courses and courses focused on hard business skills (budgeting, forecasting, etc.) to empower graduates to drive organizational change through sound analysis and confident, fierce leadership. War Eagle!
