Dr. Rafay Ishfaq, the W. Allen Reed Associate Professor in Harbert College's Department of Supply Chain Management, was featured in a Scripps News national story on how grocery stores will respond to potential shortages this fall and winter.
“There hadn’t really been a low season across the board to allow for building up inventory that we can use during the holiday season when we expect a surge in demand,” Dr. Ishfaq told Scripps.
Dr. Ishfaq's research is focused on exploring the interplay between operational and service issues in retail supply chains.
His research studies adapt analytical models within an empirical framework to explore the impact of strategic planning and managerial decisions on firm performance.
