Accounting majors are STRONGLY encouraged to do an accounting internship before graduation.  Internships help bring your coursework to life and allows you to test drive your chosen career!  Your plan of study should include a spring semester internship during your senior year or immediately before entering a Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program. Summer semester internships are available but limited.

Ms. Molly Hulsey, 147 Lowder Hall, is the Undergraduate Academic Advisor for accounting majors and plays an important role in ensuring that an internship is included in your plan of study. The ACCT curriculum model for students who enrolled in Fall 2015 is presented to allow completion of a senior year "busy season" internship while also being enrolled in 12-15 hours of coursework. You must obtain your academic plan of study from Mrs. Hulsey before beginning the recruiting process.

Ms. Hulsey offers several group advising sessions for accounting majors.  Please take advantage of one of these advising sessions to ensure you're on the right track for pursuing an internship.

Students receive an email with directions on how to make a group advising session appointment via Advise Assist on AU Access.  Group appointments are scheduled through February.  Pre-business groups will be in March.  Ms. Hulsey will have walk-in hours sporadically throughout February for one-on-one meetings.  Her regular drop-in hours will restart in March.
